Currently this service is only provided in Victoria.
Notetakers can be provided to take notes at events and meetings, either when a Deaf or hard of hearing person is present, or as a mechanism to record proceedings.
Notetaking is a service that is commonly in used in addition to Auslan interpreters when servicing Deaf clients. Auslan is a visual language and it can be difficult for Deaf participants simultaneously receive the information from interpreters and take notes. It is commonly required when a record of the discussion is needed for further use, for example
- University lectures
- Workplace training
- Minutes for workplace meetings
Notetaking is currently not an accredited profession however our staff
- Are able to take clear typed or handwritten notes
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Are able work with little to no supervision
- Have completed a minimum of VCE English
- Have completed a National Police Check
